Commission and Donate?
Hello all:
For private reasons, I am considering commissioning a guitar from a leading luthier and making it available to world class guitar players who would not be able to afford it. I am trying to figure out a structure for doing this, and am open to suggestions. The Amati Foundation does something similar with orchestral stringed instruments. Ideally, I could commission the guitar, donate it to the foundation (with related tax benefits) and they would handle the administration and insurance. I would like to get my hands on teh guitar maybe one month each year. I am not looking for a luthier to commission, I already know who I want to work with. Rather I am looking for the organization that might be appropriate for handling this. Thanks in advance! Please email rather than PM me at [email protected] eric siegel

Eric,
Google the "Ste Cat" collection. Jacque Andre did something similar for musicians in the Montreal area. Unfortunately I don't have his contact info any more. You might drop Mario Beauregard an email and perhaps he may have Jacque Andre's contact info. |
