Default Juanjo Dominguez, for who ever didnt heard him

Just wanting to make you listen to this player from Argentina. He have been known in the Tango music scene and some other traditional Argentine music, accompanyng many singers, and forming guitar trios and quartets.

I drop some to listen:

At least the last 3 ones are not his own compositions, the second one is an arrangements of a song, the third is an arrangements of a orchestral tango composed by Roberto Grela, and the forth composed by guitarist Abel Fleury.

And an extra, a trio leaded by a second guitar of a J. Dominguez trio.

Hope you enjoy, this is just a selfish thing wanting to make you hear this incredible guitarist.

Amazing player. I picked up a used cd of his about a year ago for 99 cents called "guitarrias del mundo vol 3" awhile back and absolutely love it. Apparently it was a series featuring various guitarists as I also picked up vol 11 that features a duo caleed Arias/Montes. Such wonderful players not known to the mainstreaat, thanks for sharing.

Juanjo is among my all-time fave guitarists, musicians and composers of ANY era or genre! He's simply brilliant.

I discovered his music via the kindness of an employee (or was he the owner?) of NYC's 'Luthier Music'.

I visited their shop and mentioned that there was a type of guitar music from south america which I'd heard a little bit of, but was unable to describe--it wasn't 'classical' or bossa nova, but wasn't 'folk music' either....

he then jaw-dropped me! he invited me to select three CD's for FREE , but said "but make sure that one of them is THIS one" as he handed me a Juanjo CD (link below).....

his advice was perfect...the genre-section he guided me to was EXACTLY the style I was curious about, and Juanjo's CD was the jaw-dropper of the 3 CD's i took home....

that CD is the same one which turned me on to Juanjo....what a recording, eh? i'v never tired of it.

about the 'mainstream': across most of planet earth, nylon-string guitars ARE the 'mainstream', are what most people think of when they think 'guitar.'

Nice to hear you have heard of Juanjo Dominguez before.

Another guitar from Argentina you can check is Juan Falú, he plays more what we call "folklore", which ive been thinking how in Argentina we say "folklore" and we think in some style of music, and not in what the word folklore really mean (traditions of a region, for this case we pronunce it more like "folklor").

Not folklorica, or maybe thats the adaptation word in english, but here in Argentina we called it "folklore", but the pronunciation its different.

This is folklore if any wants to listen. Juanjo Dominguez play some folklore, he have a strong tango side but he plays a different styles like "paraguayan songs" (songs from Paraguay).

Then, one of the most important folklore singers of argentina -and latin america- is Mercedes Sosa.

This is maybe not so a folklore song to me, its more "modern", but its incredible.
