Really interesting build but the general specifications/mesures that you are posting refers to an MD model instead of MDW. Which one are you going for ?

You're right. I had the wrong list of specs. Fixed in the original post.

Thank you very kindly Gentlemen! I'm glad to have you along for the journey! Here on AGF it's not everyday we get to watch Jason at his craft.

ABW is a tonewood I have wanted in my collection for a while. Jason was glad to oblige!

Could it possibly be ready to be unveiled at B.I.G.?????
I figure I sit while playing most times so my leg will bear the brunt. Not sure about the BIG unveiling. It is getting a late start for that. But one never knows what these magicians can pull off. I know Jason is looking forward to BIG!

Wow, No, Really, WOW
There is a recent thread about guitars you would never sell. I’ll assume this one will make the list.

That's one of my favorite Kostal rosettes - it really does look like stained glass. I hope he can come pretty close for you. I love the sapwood on that back - personally I'd rather have that than a backstrip. Either way, this is going to a stunner - congrats!

Gorgeous woods. I got to play Michael Watt’s Kostsl a number of years back and those cutaway dreads are absolutely amazing. Huge but balanced tone. Congrats.

Dennis, That looks like it will be an awesome guitar! I like the shape and can only imagine the great full sound that will come out of this one given the size and the 12 fret design. Should be a show stopper! Anxious to see how this one comes along. Happy for you!! Congratulations!

I am going to make a shameless plug here. Dennis as a former moderator can ask me to delete it if he would like and I will gladly do so but there seems to be a lot of Jason Kostal love here. If people want to meet him and try his guitars in person he is going to be attending the B. I. G. Event in March. I have room for about 10 more people first come first serve. Come show Jason your love personally and have a great time with the rest of us.

Man that ABW is better than the stuff Jason used on mine!

I had a full-fat Kostal MD in ABW and sold it partly because, over time, I found it was far too large for me. I didn't order a wedge and thought I would play the OM more anyway...I didn't. I reallly liked what the MD offered.

So, I think the MDW size is a perfect compromise. I've played Michael's and it's a very comfortable guitar indeed while still bringing most of the qualities of the full-on model.

Cheers,
Steve

Love everything there is about this build. Only thing I would do differently is opt for the 25.25 scale length. With that deep body, a longer scale length would allow it to shine just a bit more. Still, it's gonna be a winner.
