You guys must be sick of my NGD threads
Got me a great cheap guitar. It’s a no name Strat, but says Vineyard on the headstock and neck plate. Not much about it out there other than it’s made overseas (most likely China), but set up and sold in the USA. I even read the hardware is Shaller. I checked it out, and played it for a little bit and decided what the heck.
Now after I took it home, I got to check it out even in more detail. The inlays are abalone, and they are very well done. The fretwork has nothing to envy my USA made instruments, in fact, the fret ends are smooth throughout the whole neck. It actually puts my LP studio to shame since that guitar has a less than perfect fretwork. Maple neck with maple fretboard cap which is not uncommon on cheaper instruments. The wood grain could be a veneer, since it looks like maple, but doesn’t feel like maple. The pickups are adequate, it does sound like a strat, but I think the neck is a bit on the hot side. Have to roll off the tone to get that nice warm strat neck tone. Pic $150 for it and feels like a step above a MIM strat. Of course I have pics! |

Congrats Juan! I've never heard of Vineyard so I looked them up. There's very little on them but what I read mimics what you mentioned, made overseas and setup in the US (perhaps we read that same post).
Try lowering the neck pickup a little. That may help tame it down some. Do you have a multimeter? That will give you a good idea of what you have for pickups. |

Yeah I ran into that post since that’s all there is. I also ran into a reverb posting listing it at $500+. I’ll mess with the pictures lip height, even the bridge looks a bit too high too. The rest of the setup is excellent. It’s a great playing strat. |

Enjoy. Your cheap buy put my cheap buy to shame. . It’s beautiful.
I like these cheap choices because they give a mind in need of some diversion an outlet to tinker. I’ve learned how to polish frets, change a bridge, intonate p, change tuners… and relaxed in the process. |

Thanks! Can’t go wrong with $150! Especially when it’s right there in build quality with some of my four digit guitars! Quote:
Yeah one of my first guitars is a 1989 Squier II, and did a tons of mods to it. It was also a free unplayable guitar so it was fun to bring her back to life. |

More of a Sauvignon Blanc. Light and a bit dry with a hint of sweetness. [emoji23] |

Nice looking guitar. It looks new and appears that you haven't yet removed the protective film from the pick guard. Whatever gave you the idea that guitar players get tired of looking at guitars? Keep the pics coming.
