I also tried to catch Eric Clapton´s solo fills to get into my fingerstyle version. I think that most
people like the combination of the great melody/harmony that is added with Claptons solo fills.
The funny story behind this was told by Paul McCartney. They "created" this special guitar sound
while trying to synchronize Clapton´s tape (recorded in USA) to the master tape they recorded
in London. And they did it with manually slowing down the tape wheel with Claptons
recording on the tape machine ...... that´s called HiTech in 1968 - but the result is amazing !!

I’m trying to learn as many Beatles songs as I can these days. So many beautiful melodies and interesting chord progressions and harmonies.

My Farida 00 into a usb mic to iPad video recorder, no processing.

Thanks for listening

Hey Jude (Beatles)

Composer: John Lennon (1940 - 1980) and Paul McCartney (b. 1942)
Arranger: Ming Huang

"Hey Jude" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles that was released as a non-album single in August 1968. It was written by Paul McCartney and credited to the Lennon–McCartney partnership. The song begins with McCartney singing lead vocals and playing the piano. The patterns he plays are based on three chords: F, C and B♭ (I, V and IV). The main chord progression is "flipped on its head", in Hertsgaard's words, for the coda, since the C chord is replaced by E♭.

In 2013, Billboard magazine named it the 10th "biggest" song of all time in terms of chart success. McCartney sang the song in the closing moments of the opening ceremony of the 2012 Summer Olympics hosted in London.

I did the arrangement and sight-read the music sheet from a computer monitor.

Lyrics:

Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
Hey Jude, don't be afraid.
You were made to go out and get her.
The minute you let her under your skin,
Then you begin to make it better.
And anytime you feel the pain, hey Jude, refrain,
Don't carry the world upon your shoulders.
For well you know that it's a fool who plays it cool
By making his world a little colder.
Hey Jude, don't let me down.
You have found her, now go and get her.
Remember to let her into your heart,
Then you can start to make it better.
So let it out and let it in, hey Jude, begin,
You're waiting for someone to perform with.
And don't you know that it's just you, hey Jude, you'll do,
The movement you need is on your shoulder.
Hey Jude, don't make it bad.
Take a sad song and make it better.
Remember to let her under your skin,
Then you'll begin to make it
Better better better better better better, oh.
Na na na nananana, nannana, hey Jude...
(repeat X number of times, fade)

Default And I Love Her

I saw this one posted in several nice versions. I gave it a more Bossa-like treatment, kind of a simplified Metheny Version.

One day I may figure out how to post pics and music on here.

Like most people, the first album I ever recorded was an all covers album.

Just to see if we could do it. And make it sound right.

All the songs came from our live performance shows.

The "Beatles" track we did was Here Comes The Sun.

I learned the guitar to that song back in about 1975.

It was probably 2000 or so before I ever got band members who would to agree to do it.

Came out really good. Became a highlight of our set.

Others we covered over the years were, Another Girl, Nowhere Man, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, The End, Get Back, Blackbird, Mother Nature's Son.

I bet there were more. But that was too many brain cells ago.

I play my version since about 15 years now and today I finally got it recorded....

I kind of cringe seeing and hearing two of me, but I'm stoked I was able to figure things out. Here is my humble try on this fun Beatles song. I hope you enjoy and please let me know what you think.

I'm late to the party, but I had fun coming up with these two remote socially-distanced Beatles cover collaborations over the last year or so.

Here's "Here Comes the Sun," which expands the version Doug Young and I recorded on our DUETS album with the addition of Marla Fibish on mandolin and Bruce Victor on cittern:

And here's "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" as a duet with Nate Lopez on 8-string electric guitar and me on my National Style 1:
