Default Welp, I just bought a Sobell

A Sobell has long been at the top of my dream guitar list. I've especially been intrigued by Stefan's Butterfly model.

I checked Stefan's site on a whim and found one on his Available Now page. I contacted the owner, confirmed the nut width and scale length, and it will be on the way to the States tomorrow.

I am excited to finally experience one of Stefan's guitars.

Good move. I've always wanted to try a Sobell. Let us know how it turns out. I imagine you'll be thrilled.

Congratulations. One of the best guitars I've heard (out front in a very small setting) was a Sobell Model 1. I had a chance to play a used New World model, but timing was such that I wasn't in the market to purchase.

That is a quality I really look forward to. Most acoustics I have played have a limit on how hard you can push them.

UPS is requiring that I complete a Lacey Act PPQ505 form.

I would appreciate if anyone who has completed one can provide guidance as this is my first.

The Butterfly arrived yesterday in spite of the seller not filing any CITES paperwork and getting my address wrong.

Initial impressions are that I love the sound, it has that quality in the highs that reminds me of bagpipes and doesn't crap out no matter how hard I pick/strum.

It will take me some time to get used to the shallow neck profile. Also, I will need to adjust my position because the lower bout is much bigger than I am used to and it digs into my forearm. I have the same issue playing my vintage Les Pauls, so I'm sure that it won't take me long to adjust.
