Hopefully there are a few AGF members who appreciate that Madrone is one of the most beautiful trees there is. But rarely ever straight - bending, spiraling even, but rarely straight. I have always hoped to see Madrone guitars - this one is the first I have seen.

Thank you for commenting. I suspect this build it a bit aesoteric for the mainstream audience. Perhaps you can imagine my joy at seeing this tree, having already agreed to remove it from a friend's property. People ask this sort of favor when you are foolish enough (or lucky enough) to let them know you own both a chainsaw AND a truck.

May it sing like the forest from which it came.

Yeah, it can be amazingly inconvenient to admit you own either a chainsaw, or a pickup, but to admit either and say you’re a woodworker is just asking for trouble. Admit both, and say you’re a luthier - well, that’s just crazy -

I am a bit shy about playing my guitar for anyone these day, but I refuse to let my consideration control me. Here is CN#2 doing what it was made to do, Couch Noodling! This is Vimeo video.

Default Magnolia Flamenco

I have heard many times that Adi is too much structure for a Nylon strung guitar, but it seems to me its dry tone would be just the thing for what I want to hear. Less structure should do the trick. I chose a relatively colorful specimen for this guitar:

Loved watching that video of you and CN2, hopefully we'll get to see one of you and this Nylon Adirondack guitar in due course!

Thanks for posting the video of you playing CN2. Nice to hear your style of playing, and the tone and how the guitar responded.

Fun stuff Bruce. Thoroughly enjoyed your tunes. Glad you didn't let your consideration get in the way. Especially love your reaction to the sustain at the end of the second. I get that on my FT-0 … same smile on my face!

Bob's 000 has gone into finish, currently requiring less than 3 hours of my attention a day, so . . . I am getting going in earnest on the Flamenco in Madrone and Adi.

I have cut 33 of these little Cuban mahogany S's, and will turn them into a rosette. They are about 3/8" tall.

I'll be curious to see how they look - am suspecting it will be both very attractive and very neat.

Should make for a very interesting rosette. Can't wait to see how you put it together.
