Monday morning vibes...

Over the weekend I inlayed the "Maverick"(wave like) pieces into the top. Before I did that I cut a guide groove for the pieces to butt up against. The guide channel is cut in the middle of what will be the purfle channel. This allows a portion of the "Maverick" pieces to be cut away so the seam between the two are nice and clean.

This is after I cut the purfle channel for a single ring. You can see that I've cut into the inlayed pieces.

Dry fitting the purfle combo which consists of a .035" b/w/b purfle, .045" Brazilian strip, and another .035" b/w/b purfle.

I do a 3 layer laminate with my overlays. I like using epoxy for strength and it doesn't introduce moisture into the thin veneers which can warp. After sanding the mosaic portion to thickness you can start to see what it will look like.
