Talking The REAL scandal: Emerald mug shrinkflation!

Over the years I've amassed a half-dozen coffee mugs from my favorite maker of CF guitars.

Today, I pulled them out of the cupboard to get to some glassware buried deep in the back.

That's when I noticed that the two oldest mugs are significantly larger than the newer ones...!!!

Indeed, the two older ones (on either side) hold 2 cups/~500ml and the newer cups (the one in the middle as an example) holds a mere 1.5 cups/ ~350ml! A travesty!

At this rate, Emerald will be issuing shot glasses by 2030! (Wait a minute, maybe that's not a bad idea!)

I realize that the OP's "complaint" is tongue-in-cheek, but I actually think the variety in the mugs shown is kind of cool. But what do I know? I also like music from Barry Manilow and The Carpenters...

You know what is really outrageous? Getting the exact same mug with each of my different Emerald models. I demand mug variety!

I got a Kestrel and no mug and I am incredibly satisfied with what I got.

But, then, if you have ever been incarcerated, you learn quickly that mug shots are never flattering.

Shouldn't they be carbon fibre?

(With a clay veneer?)

RP,

Loved your comment, "But what do I know I like music from Barry Manilow and the Carpenters".

I do, as well, especially Karen!

4 Emeralds, 3 mugs... no mug with the absolutely gorgeous Virtuo from last summer's 25th Anniversary Sale; I understand that. The mug was always a lagniappe (something given as a bonus or a gift). When I got that first Emerald years ago, the mug was a fun surprise - certainly not something I expected. I still use that same mug every morning. It still makes me smile... something unique about that irregular lip on it.

The next two mugs weren't a surprise, but still very much appreciated. One lives in our motorhome, the 3rd is my home "back up." Each is different, but they appear to be a similar size.

The guitars that each of those mugs came with make me smile, too. Each of those guitars is a different size - no shrinkflation there!
