Never split the difference
Never heard of this guy 'til this morning - now I can hardly stop listening. Ordered his book. Watched YouTube. FBI hostage negotiator explains how the principles of the limbic system - emotions, are part of being human and are effective even in the most difficult situations.
He calls it "tactical empathy." Former SWAT member, transitioned when his knee gave him trouble. Interesting guy. https://youtu.be/guZa7mQV1l0

Yes, a very interesting guy.
My favorite line from the video: "If someone is talking to you, you have something they want." He is referring to a specific context in the talk, but I am pondering that thought in view of a larger context. If I'm talking to someone, do they have something I want? This notion could be brought into a discussion defining/re-defining the labels of "introvert" and "extrovert". Thanks for posting this Arthur Bkake. |
