So I bought a so called Fishman Sonitone pickup off Ebay. First of all it's a knock off product. It states it as being Fishman, says Fishman on the pickup in the picture but it's not. No where on this pickup does it say Fishman. I contacted the seller and they admitted it was a copy. Oh well, I'll put it in anyway.

This thing is coming out tonite. YUK. I could maybe put up with the quack, that's a big maybe. But the distortion is awful, even at a low volume. So I'm out $20.00. No big deal. That's what I get for cheaping out. Lesson learn't. Buyer beware.

oh wow,, that's weird.

my 12 string has a sonitone. I'm not nuts about it, but it works ok.

no distortion, just doesn't sound as good as like say an infinity.

$20 lessons can save you more $ down the road, no doubt. The real crime is how much money ebay and Amazon knowingly take in selling patent and trademark infringing Chinese knockoffs. And sometimes buyers unsuspectingly blame the infringed American business for the inferior product. I wonder if Fishman knows about these knockoffs. You might want to give them a heads up.

Maybe something to do with this being a clone? Not sure?

My Seagull came with one from factory and it's OK. That's why I ordered one to put in my Alvarez which would have been good enough for this guitar and what I use it for. All I know is that it's coming out.

I may do that. What could / would they do about it anyway.

Oh! I missed that it was a copy. Maybe that's the explanation
