Awesome enjoy it. I bought a new HD-28V 2/18 and the guitar has opened up brilliantly! Kudos, it took about 14 months to "open it up". It's an amazing thing when it happens. Be patient and enjoy.

Anyone who finds a D28 hum drum or ho hum or anything of the like is someone who’s opinion I wouldn’t be putting any stock in. That’s an iconic guitar for a reason. I had one for 25 years and if I still wanted something as large and loud as a dread, I’d still have one. Enjoy it before it fully opens up and enjoy it even more as it does...

Thank you everyone. I can't imagine what it'll sound like when it opens up. It's already bloody fantastic.

These are bluegrass machines right? Flatpicking? Not supposed to fingerpick on these? Not good for that right? Can someone, then, tell me why I can't stop doing it and it sounds so rich and full and fantastic and amazing and awesome?

Congratulations on your d-28! They’re great guitars. I love my re-imagined d28. You can strum it, flat pick it, or finger pick it, it all sounds good on a d28. Great pick for a guitar.
