Default Need help identifying a guitar I found

I picked up an older acoustic guitar today. It has no logos anywhere and the sound hole sticker was removed. It has kluson tuners on it which from what I found where put on some Gibson’s, fenders and Martins back in the late and early 60’s but I really can’t find anyway to figure out what it is. The only numbers I can find are a p-3 in the sound hole that would’ve been under the sticker and a 9107 on the underside of the neck when you take it off. Any help would be great and I wish I could post pictures but for some reason I can’t share photos.

Post your photos at a site like pinterest and then insert the BBS code for image in your post with the url of the photo in the middle.

For instance: .

So:

will give you the following result:

This will be tough without photo's. Almost like a game of charades. I use Imgur to transfer photo's, super easy after signing up.

The acoustic guitar has a removable neck? A plate and bolts on upper back of guitar, or what? What is the shape of the headstock? Does it look like a brand you recognize? What shape of bridge and saddle?

We need images.

I'm think fender had an acoustic with a neck that was removable. It had the bolts/plate and a Strat type of head stock.

I was able to look at your iCloud photos. Given details like the bolt-on bridge and bolt-on neck, plus the tuners look cheap too, this appears to be one of thousands of inexpensive Asian imports from the 60-70-80's era. Maybe worth $75 if put back together and then set up to play reasonably well (assuming that is even possible). The set up and new strings would be a significant portion of its total value. Sorry.

The Eko guitars from Italy had removable bolt-on necks and a very similar bridge design ( but usually the adjustable height saddle type) and 'batwing' style pick guard but I can't find one with those fret markers.

I agree with Brucebubs - I saw the outline of that batwing pickguard and immediately thought, "Eko!" But the fretboard inlays are unique, in my experience. Could Eko have done any made-to-order, one-off guitars?

It would appear to be a 1968ish Kay K6103 Rich Bass guitar. Like this one. I've seen people selling just the Kluson Deluxe tuners for good money. I have a very similar 1968 Kay Country, just rebuilt for me. That's what clued me in. Mine does not have a bolt on neck. Cheers.

Dan

If you are familiar with Kays, a "P" prefix stamp was a common seen series or production number. And beginning in the later-1950s, they started to evolve from set neck instruments to a combination of set neck and bolt to bolt-on necks. The headstock style of the guitar in the photo would indicate a build date of 1966 to 1968.
