Default Leo Buendia NAMM 2020

This fascinating interview with Leo reviews 3 of his recent builds, including the KOA OM Cutaway that I, (was very lucky to have) just received.

This is my 2nd Buendia.

IMHO no one builds a better finger style guitar, not to mention he's a very cool
guy.

Hope you enjoy.

That is one beautiful looking and beautiful sounding koa guitar! I believe your guitar is the one Mark Lemaire did a home recording? Nice!

Thanks for sharing this. I agree that Leo is a terrific human being, and his guitars are magical. I have one, and had to order another.

Congrats. I was able to play this guitar at NAMM. Leo told me that he likes working with "softer" woods, and he feels he can coax the most out of them.

I confirmed this by playing it in a sound-booth. That guitar literally breathes while playing and one can actually feel the air pushing out of it. I'm on Leo's build list, and originally was thinking of going with Wenge or some other rosewood. This Koa guitar has completely changed my perspective.

It's Brazilian, don't know if it was yours. SuperB23 listed it about a month ago and I jumped on it.

Any build with Leo will be a pleasant experience, which isn't the case with all builders, and result in a guitar that will not disappoint.

Leo’s guitars are amazing. I’ve played a few of his guitars over the years. He’s a good friend, too!

Leo has contacted me about attending the next BIG. Hopefully we can work that out!

Leo Buendia is a great builder who is also a very kind and considerate individual.

I had a chance to visit with him about a potential bid, but his new builds get very expensive fast, so I am now looking for a great pre-owned one. But I have to say that my appreciation for Leo really grew after speaking with him. His builds are all stellar guitars and his personality and generosity match that.
