I recently purchased a 2006 Wingert E model and have a few other for sale.
I plan on ordering a custom build from her shortly. Played a lot of great guitars and enjoy them all, but Kathy's just bonded with me instantly.
I guess it is no different then owning two Fords at the same time.

I've got two from Michael. One is just not enough.

I own two steel-string guitars each from Simon Fay, Thomas Rein, and Bozo Podunavac.

I'm waiting on my second classical from Anders Sterner...!

I played one of Kim’s guitars many years ago at a shop in NM. It was magical.

I have two Emeralds, and every intention of adding a third, once I figure out how to get it past the guard

I have multiple guitars from a handful of builders, but I like to think there was a method to my madness. I play a lot of blues and Celtic, mostly fingerstyle in a bunch of tunings.

I've been gathering this little group of guitars for over 20 years, starting out with modern Martins and morphing into the stratosphere from there. At first it was OMs and then as an complement to that model I went for small jumbos, driven by my then new-found love for players like Martin Simpson.

Here we go:

Modern Martins that I still have (sold a bunch): 3 (00-37KSM, OM-18A, Custom 000-18GE)

Old Martins: 2 (1930 OM-28, 1935 000-28 Shaded Top)

Stefan Sobell: 5 (4 guitars and 1 octave mandolin)

Kim Walker: 2 (OM-42 and 000-18 12 fret--sold a third one)

TJ Thompson: 3 (1993 Schoenberg Soloist, OM-45 Deluxe and OM-45)

Bruce Sexauer: 2 (Koa Schoenberg and JB-15 all asymmetrical everything)

I think the whole point of this thread and the really cool guitars that folks have described is that you bond with the approach of certain luthiers as artisans because they have a tonal and aesthetic point of view that fits your musical and other needs. P.S. Kudos to Jimmy Caldwell, who contributed above--I only have one of his guitars but it is stellar! Tim

I find something really special about John Greven's guitars. Just like the OP, bho, I have a Greven OOO in Brazilian and Lutz (2013). This year John will be building me a OO 12-fret cutaway in maple and Lutz. Looking forward to the OO for sure.

Wow... What an amazing collection. A TJ Thompson OM-45 deluxe must be heavenly.

Kim Walker is the only luthier whose guitars I have owned more than one of - although I owned them at different times and not at the same time. One was the only 17 inch wide maple jumbo he ever made while the other one was a 16 inch jumbo of one of a kind Brazilian rosewood and Adirondack spruce that may just be the single best all round guitar I have ever played let alone owned.

Count me in as the type of person that usually tends to gravitate to one builder. I've done this now with Kronbauer, Emerald, Santa Cruz, Cole Clark and of course, Martin. Right now I'm rocking three Cole Clarks because they amplify so well. Since I do gig I always feel the need to have a backup guitar that is more or less the same so that is oftentimes why I end up with guitars from the same builder. That said, I always do end up going back to Martin guitars and this time was no different. I found myself very happy with three Cole Clark guitars but then I saw this custom Martin on Reverb and something just said I'd love it and I do. That said I'm also very happy with the current stable although I am one guitar 'heavy' so at some point one of the Cole Clarks will go on the block. I'm just having a really hard time deciding which one to sell!
