Martin D-18 Del McCoury #46 of 50

The guitar has been played quite a bit and really opened up. Very powerful and punchy. Strong and clear bass, yet very well balanced. I have truly enjoyed this guitar for the time I have owned it. This model was built as a nod to an early 1940's D-18. It has a beautiful Adirondack spruce top with scalloped, rear-shifted braces (1 7/8” from the sound hole) true to the era. Back and sides are very attractive mahogany. The mahogany neck has a very comfortable "V" profile. The bone nut is 1 11/16". The saddle is also bone with 2 1/8” string spacing. Overall, the guitar is in very good condition and structurally solid. While it has been played, it has been cared for. It is set-up well with a lot of saddle remaining. Neck is straight. The guitar's original tuners have been swapped out for Waverly's with snakewood tuner buttons. It does have a few minor blemishes, including whisker finish cracks by the bridge and fretboard extension. From what I have read, these are not that un-common from Martins of this period. The finish is also slightly separating between the fingerboard and neck in some places. I will be glad to provide any additional pictures.
