Wow.... stunning is all I can say. I thought Olson was known for his SJ....he should be known for his dreads..... stellar!

That is a piece of Brazilian unlike anything I have seen.

Default Mahogany Olson

I thought Jim Olson was known for his SJs, with cedar top, or spruce top, and rosewood back and sides, better if brazilian rosewood.
And I ordered many of them from Jim (8 guitars in 6 yeqrs, all different in woods combination, including a stellar Pernambuco back and sides with european spruce top).
Few weeks ago Jim shipped to me the last one, made with standard "Marin-esque" woods combination. An SJ cutaway, with mahogany back and sides and adirondack spruce top.
It is amazing ! Absolutely incredible !
The Jim's luthery approach adds sweetness and deepness to the quick attack of the adirondack spruce, having a wonderful "fundamental notes addicted" mahogany bed.
It is absolutely stunning !
Ciao

He calls it a "museum piece"... His dreads are as exceptional as his SJ's. And he is a pleasure to work with.

Here's a cool song that Keith wrote and performed on his Olson dread.

Here's Keith's guitar again, this time in more delicate hands.

Very brave on his part to let his friend play with a pick...

It is still my favorite and most played guitar by far. It isnt a closet queen..it is my regular gigging guitar.
