Default Rumours of new Martin Authentic models?

I had ordered a 000-15sm, but due to the long lead I’ve been talking myself into a 00-17 Authentic 1931 (I’m still a little spooked by the lack of a truss rod). I enquired today but go told this model has been discontinued but that there are new Authentic models on the horizon. Has anyone else heard this?

Also, is there anywhere that lists Authentics that have gone before?

I wondered the same but I’m guessing plantation rosewood and not old growth.

Its odd though because i remember cites banning the use of new growth and only letting us use Brazilian that was imported before 1960. Idk whats going on here

Unless its another similar species??? I'm dumbfounded

Martin assured me a month ago the 00-17 Authentic is still in production. Who told you it isn't?

It's just the fingerboard and bridge so smaller pieces. They do still have Brazilian you can order via the custom shop for a $25,000 upcharge. Not kidding. It's all pre-ban wood they had stockpiled.

The 00-17A and 00-18A have been discontinued for sometime. There are a few still available since Covid closed many stores.

Yes, the word was out that both of these Authentics were discontinued. There was some confusion about the 00-17A but it was considered discontinued in 2020. I called Martin last month after the model appeared on their new website. The customer service rep said it was a current model. It was then that I gave her the history of this model and she promised to go right to the source and get me an answer.

She called back and said yes, the 00-17A is a currently available model.

As noted above, the 00-17 Authentic is mahogany b&s, with rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
