Default Hercules Ukulele stand - question

Long shot, perhaps - but does anyone here own a Hercules UKS100B ukulele stand?

I’m trying to find out how wide the yoke is, to see whether it will fit an instrument I’ve recently purchased. Hercules is unresponsive via email or Facebook, and Sweetwater hasn’t responded to an online enquiry either.

If anyone has one, could you measure it and let me know?

TIA,
David

David,

I cannot answer your question, but use a Cooperstand for my tenor ukuleles. It works great.

https://www.sweetwater.com/store/det...-ukulele-stand

It may be too small for your Emerald though.

Sweetwater is usually quite responsive. Try calling them instead rather than emailing them. I'll bet you get an answer right away.

That’s next on my list!

Very pretty piece of gear! I did pick up an inexpensive folding metal stand of the same basic design, and you are correct - it’s really not wide enough for the Amicus.

I called Sweetwater on Monday, and explained what I needed. They had someone go and get one out of inventory, and measure it. Got a call back yesterday with the answer; placed the order, and I’ll have it tomorrow. Can’t beat that!

The answer is 2”, if anyone’s interested

Well, the stand arrived. Someone needs to buy the Sweetwater warehouse guy a new ruler

The yoke is actually 1.75" wide, not 2".

Thankfully, there's enough give in the foam to accommodate the nearly 2" neck width of the Amicus, but out of the box it's a little snug.

I am not familiar with Amicus uke but I picked up a Profile foldable stand which is adjustable and fits all my concert and tenor sized ukes. Also folds up nicely and can be used on the floor or if that's not safe on a table. They are quite easy to find, for example

Thanks. As I mentioned above, I’ve already tried something like this, and it won’t work for the Amicus. It’s a 12-string, 18” scale instrument with a 12” lower bout. Being a 12-string, it’s headstock-heavy, and the folding stand just wasn’t wide enough to give me confidence. Hanging it by the headstock from the Hercules stand is much more secure.

OK I see. There is a Hercules universal stand that has a clamp that is supposed to adjust to all neck sizes. I thought about getting one so I can use it for ukes as well as guitars, I think it GS455B that might work well. The height adjustment should be sufficient for shorter instrument as well.
