Thoughts On These Acoustic Panels
https://denver.craigslist.org/msg/d/...320184641.html
I think they could be worth it. Anything I should ask about in particular? |

Might be ok as described if the color does not bother you and there is no or low shipping charges. Otherwise I'd go with new panels say from ATS.

They've only got 2" OC in them, so ok for movable gobos, clouds, back wall or point-of-first-reflection panels. But not corners, and they won't do much low end attenuation.

With this at the first reflection point you'd still need to make some 4" panels for the corners, but I don't think you could build those cheaper than what the guy is asking for them. If they were built well, it sounds like a good deal provided you can pick them up. Shipping them would likely be too expensive to be cost effective.

Two or three inches. Unclear.

The overall dimensions are listed as 3" thick - but if they used 1x3 lumber, that's about 2-5/8 actual thickness. OC is available in 1", 2" and 4" thicknesses. Very doubtful they sandwiched 1" and 2" together, so I assume its really 2" of OC in them.

Leaving an air gap on the backside is a good way to build those. That way you can hang the frame flush to the wall and still maintain that air layer.
