Default CBS 60 Minutes Rick Rubin feature

Something I never thought I'd ever see... a CBS 60 Minutes feature on Rick Rubin!

Well worth watching, it will be available on the CBS Youtube website for those who wish to see it.

I saw it too. Very interesting how Rick inspires artists to dig deep to discover/rediscover their musical souls and bring it all out front for performance.

Very interesting man indeed. I read his recent book and thought, man, that guy is like the ancient stoic philosophers….Seneca, Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius. Then I saw he was interviewed on the Daily Stoic blog.

He also has a long running podcast that is sometimes quite interesting and entertaining and at other times a bit too self indulgent for my ears.

The interview was interesting and the one with him and Neil Young was as well. He reminds me of Tom Dowd, but with 10,000 feet of altitude added.

Amazing what he did with Johnny Cash. I love that song "Hurt". Nice coverage of this recently on the PBS "Country Music" documentary.

Trent Reznor, who wrote it, said that after Johnny recorded it, it was no longer his song, it was Johnny's.

Great interview and an interesting guy. I had no idea how broad his influence has been.

There's an interesting interview with Rick Rubin on the Ezra Klein show podcast.
