Default 'Til Tuesday

Does 80s pop/rock get any better than this? From Aimee Mann's lead-singer/bass playing, Robert Holmes's chorused and distorted guitar backing to that signature keyboard lick? Your thoughts.

Yes the guitar sounds great. Dated but still awesome sounding. So cool to hear it way up front in the mix-louder and raunchier than the studio version. Saw them a couple of times back in the day, and Aimee Mann solo a few years back. Great songwriter.

"Everything's Different Now" is a 5-star album IMO.

I'm not a big 80's synth guy but you can't hide Aimee Mann's talent.

Loved her and this song in the 80s.

Aimee Mann is super talented. I just re-watching "Magnolia" (thanks to John Oliver, LOL), where her music is featured and served as inspiration for P.T. Anderson's writing for the movie.

Ah, the '80, at the Ritz! I saw a lot of shows there, "Way Back Then".

They definitely were more than a "Studio Band" - this sounds exactly like the radio version. Impressive.

It's been enough time that that synth riff sounds evocative not dated. You're right "none-more-Eighties"

Another moment of Aimee Mann:

Okay, at 6 feet tall and beautiful, with a great voice and bass playing, Aimee Mann helped drive 'Til Tuesday to the short-lived success they achieved in the mid-to-late-1980s. Aimee went on to pursue a solo career and had some success doing so. Frankly, a Saturday or Sunday afternoon doesn't pass without my viewing of this 'Til Tuesday "Voices Carry" video.

our cover was one of my bands "high points" - we are a new wave cover bar band. our former lead singer really killed this song. love this so much

I do like this song...but I like Aimee's solo work a lot more, especially Bachelor #2. Real good stuff.

Such an iconic video from the MTV days. They got the videos for free from the record companies didn't they? And in between ads they got paid for. I don't get why they ever dropped that business model.

MTV: In 1981, at 31 years of age when it debuted, for me, MTV worked, for sure!
