Gibson J top finish crack
I've heard about Gibson quality but - is this crack normal on Gibsons?
I bought this online and these cracks were not disclosed. It's a 2019 model with a nitrocellulose finish. It's about 6" on the lower bout. Is there any way to prevent the crack from getting bigger? What would the cost it be if taken to a professional luthier to fix this? And the neck joints have glue cracks (I assume). Is this from a neck reset or is it just sloppy work? Thank you in advance. No cracks are ‘normal’ on Gibsons. That guitar got too dry and cracked.

Cracks on the top are usually caused from climate conditions.
too dry, too wet, changes in humidity in your environment These wont happen exclusively on Gibson's. They can happen to any acoustic if the RH is well under or above 50% The neck joint, hard to say, did you get this online new or used? Gibson can be a bit notorious for a messy join there on the top and sides where the neck secures to the body, that's not totally out of the ordinary. I have enough gibsons to tell you,kind of common there' some "stuff" there. But I see what you mean about yours, that looks a bit excessive. I wouldn't expect a 3 yr old guitar to already have needed a neck reset but hey, who knows! Unless you bought it brand new, really hard to pinpoint details.
