It's about 8 years old and looks to be in good condition so looking forward to trying it.
You probably didn't go wrong with the Almansa 435, congrads! My Almansa 403, at maybe 1/3 price of your 435, served me adequately for the first 11 years I played nylon string (coming from steel string, a common theme in this subforum.) That guitar (cedar 403) happens to be what I recorded my (below) long-time signature song with. (Obviously I didnt mix for a classical sound--it was my first self-recording attempt.)

Small factory labels (including but not limited to guitars from Spain) get rejiggered, reorganized, contracted out to other "factories" often, such as to access Asian labor (as with steel string labels.) At one time (at least around 2007) Almansa, Alambra, and Perez guitars were reportedly all ONE company. What Almansa really is today, i havent kept up.

Dont overlook experimenting with string set total tension. Sometimes that will mean more to your sound than "the best brand." As you probably know, the different brands do not use a standard method to measure or designate exactly what "light, medium, and heavy" tension means. Good luck!

Thanks Frank, that’s re-assuring to hear as your sound is very nice.

I’ll no doubt be asking for some string advice soon :-)

I have ordered a few sets of different strings - there was me thinking nylon might be a simpler choice than steel, how wrong I was!
Hi Peter,
Hearty congrats! I don't know anything about this particular brand, but I trust from the bit that I've read from looking it up that it should provide you with a nice introduction to the world of classical guitars.
Enjoy your new adventure! and have fun exploring its new sounds.

Thanks - I am very excited.

First three pieces to learn lined up...

1. Green and Golden - Towner
2. Ashokan Farewell - arr: Shaun Murray
3. Home - Andrew York

Maybe a bit ambitious but I love all three..

A couple of CDs by Dusan Bogdanovic you might like:

https://www.allmusic.com/album/yano-mori-mw0000057945

https://www.allmusic.com/album/myste...s-mw0000638342

Yano Mori is a good sampler of Bogdanovic's music, and I think the Passacaglia
from Introduction, Passacaglia, and Fugue 'For the Golden Flower' on Mysterious Habitats is one of the most beautiful and satisfying pieces
that has been written for nylon-string guitar. And don't miss 'Reversible Cowboy' on the latter disc- it'll make you smile!

If you have second thoughts about that first guitar, it’s “Ballester.” Here’s the website:

http://www.guitarrasquiles.com/index...d=1&Itemid=101

It’s missing a lot of information, but there are images of the shop and the products, and there’s contact info if you want to ask about the guitar.
