Run a stratocaster into acoustic amp
Hi, wondering if anyone runs a stratocaster into an acoustic amp? How does it sound like?

Lotsa treble . . . with the bridge pickup you'll make bats lose their way . .
Er . . . Dunno. How'd it sound when you tried it? |

Not sure what the point would be - elecs depend on the fx and distortion levels of the amps to make any sort of sound, and an acoustic amp is (supposed) to give a pure signal.
???

Actually, you can get a good clean tone too.
I play a Tele and Strat occasionally through my AER 60/3 and also the BOSE S1 for a good clean tone. I prefer my MesaBoogie Subway Rocket but the acoustic amps can be fine in small venues and where you don’t want to drag another amp along. You can also use modelers like the HX Stomp or any other to get more electric amp tones. |

I also play a tele through through my aer60/3
sounds clean and sweet. If i want to crank it, have one of those fender super champ X2 amps. |

I've heard all sorts of people get good and bad sounds from electrics straight into acoustic amps, single PA speakers such as a JBL Eon, and DI'ed into a PA. And yes, a Strat on the bridge pickup with all the knobs dimed is going to be ice-picky. So don't do that.

I use a Tele into my Bose L1 Compact and it sounds awesome. I use a Joyo American Sound pedal as the amp simulator. When I switch to acoustic, I change that pedal between sets and use a Baggs Session DI out to the Bose. I know that does not answer your specific question but posted more for a tidbit of information.
Cheers.

Going straight in, one could probably tweak a decent tone out of it as a way to hear it for practicing and such. What are you trying to do?
my bud plays bass in a band where one of the guitar players has a fishman power bridge equipped strat and a loudbox mini. His acoustic sound is pretty good with the piezo, but when tries to use an over dive pedal of some sort, with the single coil pups, (eg: get more of a usable "electric" sound for classic rock tunes) honestly it doesn't sound good at all IMHO OHOTH, If you had some sort of modeling pre-amp, (like a line 6 Helix, or the like) which are designed to be output to full range setups, maybe that would better? |

I play a Carvin SH575 which has two humbuckers plus a piezo bridge for acoustic tones. If I want only clean tone I go into my Bose S1 and it has great sound with clear highs and strong bass. But to do a dirty sound with much distortion you will need an electric guitar amp.

Through a Line6 Pocket POD it sounds great!

I think you could get a usable sound
If you have enough range On the eq to tame the icepick. It's running an acoustic through Most electric amps that usually Doesn't work.... |

An acoustic amp is just a FRFR (full range, flat response) speaker with some extra bells and whistles. Combine it with a modeling guitar pedal (the Zoom G1 four is pretty cheap) and you're good to go. Many touring and studio musicians are going FRFR and a signal processor these days.

I did have a G1 four for a while though I mostly used it for acoustic guitar. I thought it sounded OK with electric but maybe my standards are too low. For $600 MAP (minus discounts) I can heartily recommend the HX Stomp.
