Suggestions for a busking amp?
Any suggestions for busking amps?
I was planning on getting the Roland Cube Ex but would a Roland Street Cube do the same job for less? Any other suggestions? I'll be using a Shure SM58 and my Martin LX1E. I hope to get a loop pedal going down the line too. |

I love the Roland AC-33. Acoustic guitar, vocals, looper, battery powered.

I'm happy with my Traynor TVM15. Two channels, one takes just a quarter inch jack and the other accepts quarter inch or XLR.
I've used it with an SM58 and an acoustic with a Baggs Element or Baggs I-Beam.

My wife and I actually use a pair of Fender Passport minis to play gigs at old folks homes, but they don't have enough juice for busking.g If you get th EX, I highly recommend the carrying bag. You may want to check out the Alto Uber. Fewer bells and whistles, but affordable and pretty loud

Heard a violin player last night with a cube street. Sounded great.

Bose S1 with backpack. It tilts back some, is easily carried on your back, uses battery power, has great volume and tons of good bass for outside, reverb, three channels.

Don't know which amp specifically, but if I was lugging an amp around town the features I'd be looking for would be: loud with plenty of bottom end, lightweight (backpack-able?) and with a kick-proof metal grill. I'd probably want a Goretex cover for it too, or something similar, to deter spilt coffee.

Roland AC33 if your emphasis is on guitar tone. Bose S1 Pro if its on vocals. IMO
