What kind of tonal properties does Catalpa have? What is the weight of the wood like, is it light like Cypress (blanca) or heavy like Rosewood (negra)? I tried some blancas and a few negras, and loved the bark of the blancas but my ears preferred the tonality of the negras I tried.

It sounds like a fascinating instrument. I'd love to get my grubby mits on it!
