Tiger....
Watching him yesterday and this morning I have to wonder if he's not going to make a graceful exit soon.
There are moments of the greatness of days gone by, but I'm seeing a body that just can't sustain the stress any longer. I REALLY hate to see the end of this era, but I don't believe he's the kind of athlete that wants to go out and shoot 15 over just so the patrons can watch him play. For the last quarter century it's certainly been fun to watch.

Regardless of his recent Masters performance, I think Tiger makes too much money from sponsorships, including the newly formed relationship with TaylorMade, to completely walk away from the game at this point.
Tiger Woods announced the next chapter for his apparel partnership would be with TaylorMade after 27 years with Nike. Woods revealed his new brand Monday at a press event at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles, where he is scheduled to play the Genesis International to mark his first official PGA Tour event since the 2023 Masters. Sun Day Red will be a separate brand and business for TaylorMade, according to TaylorMade CEO David Abeles, who adds that it is not a traditional sponsorship. “This is a full-blown unequivocal partnership,” Abeles said at the launch event. “We make every decision together. We make every product decision together.” “We are going to sunrise a brand tonight that will live with us, our lives, our families, everybody for generations to come,” Abeles continued. Sun Day Red will launch its first line of apparel for men on May 1 and will be made available online in the United States and Canada. It will expand its availability at retail and in certain markets outside of North America, and its product offerings will eventually include footwear, women and kids’ lines. Woods' impressive earnings from golf are not the only way he amassed his wealth—in fact, they account for less than 10% of his net worth, according to Forbes. The rest of his fortune comes from major endorsement deals and a series of business ventures.

I don't see him winning again, let alone a major. I think Jack's record is safe for a long time to come.

Based on his biographies and my observations, I think the choices Tiger made at a young age have sealed his fate. Maybe orthopedic medicine will advance to a point where he can compete again?

I bet any contract he signs at this point in his career has a clause in it about that. He certainly doesn't need the cash and could end the sponsorship at any time. I bet Taylormade would still be happy

Tiger earned the GOAT status in pop culture. Like Jordan, he’s an icon. Like Jordan, he’s not a hero, but he’s an icon.

Tiger is one of my golf heroes but not a life hero, not even close. I've seen him in person several times including twice at Augusta and I'll always have those memories of shots very few golfers could even dream of hitting, if any could really dream of those shots. Amazing golfer, good business man, but not my personal hero.

Tiger brought my Mom out of depression as weird as that may seem. She got to see him in person several times during his dominate years. She still loves golf and roots for the young guys.
Maybe his Son will carry on the legacy?

I thought this thread was about one of Jerry Garcia's guitars.

I know people, a couple in particular, that live for their work. They can and should just retire, but they just can't. It is that work ethic myth, if they aren't working they have no worth. I think that is Tiger.
