Default A moment of silence please..Pictures might be to graphic for some.

A friend of mine who is a very talented singer/guitarist left a gig last night and on his way home on icy roads he lost control of his car and hit a tree. This is his beloved Takamine that he has been playing for over 25 years. Luckily he was ok but....well you can see the damage here.

Glad your friend is ok. Could have turned out much worse. Bummer about the guitar but let's face it - your friend is lucky and guitars can be replaced.

Glad he's ok, and sorry for the loss.
And here's the obligatory AGF, "that will buff right out".

Ah that doesn't look so bad. Those scratches should buff right out.

Isn't there a guy here on AGF that likes to take on damaged guitar projects & fix them up new. He might give the repair a rip....or not. Seriously though, glad to hear the person is injury free.

Oh dear. That physically hurts. Still, I agree with the others of course in saying that at least he's fine!

It sucks that a guitar that he has played for so long and quite likely bonded with is destroyed. More importantly though, it's very good that he is ok.

Almost impossible to get those barn door electronics anymore ! I assume it wasn't "belted in." Did it sacrifice itself to save him, if so that's loyalty.

Some duct tape should fix that right up.

Glad your friend is ok but I am curious--what was the guitar in? Hard case, gig bag???
