Webber dread
Anyone ever played a Webber dreanaught? I've heard nothing but good things but can't get near one to find out for myself. Pls give up some details if you can.
Thanks.

I've played a rosewood/sitka dread, great sound and really nicely built. I'd much prefer it to a similarly priced guitar from any of the usual suspects.

i've played adi/ rosewood and adi/ mahogany dreads
nice clear and woody sound, good volume, good string definition. strum and fingerstyle would both work nicely. |

There was a beautiful used Webber Dred at one of my usual haunts last summer. I wish I had been in position to by it. If it showed up again, I would get. Liked the feel of the neck, great sound, and it was nice simple eye candy too.

Thanks Mr. Watts. So a adi topped one with mahogany back and sides would probably be pretty sweet?
Great sound on your myspace, by the way.

David's signature tone is one that has typically great sustain and string separation. This carries over into the dreads partially because they are not as deep as a "standard" dreadnaught.....3 5/8 at the neck heel, and 4 1/2 at the tail. I've only had one in my hands for a few minutes, and it had old strings on it, but I could tell it was all "Webber"

I loved mine Jacaranda/Engelman Slothead Dred. Great fit, finish, and tone. It cuold not handle below 13's. I had the neck adjusted.... I would have had to alter the nut and saddle and change the set up to get it working with 11's or 12's. But with those lighter strings it also lost its wonderful spark. It was made for 13's and I wasn't so we parted friends
