Default Carbon fiber

Why do you folks think they aren't making a carbon fiber guitar that looks like it's made of wood or at least colored so? I'd seriously consider one if they didn't look so danged ugly.
Just my opinion, of course.

How cool would a carbon fiber OM be that actually looked like a spruce and mahogany OM?

Emerald guitars are made with a number of beautiful wood veneers. My 2018 X10 has a cocobolo veneer.

Emerald puts wood finishes on the tops of some of their guitars that look really nice. Rainsong also has some newer guitars with sunburst finishes that look a bit more like a traditional guitar.

Emerald guitars can have a veneer top, but you will still see carbon fiber at the back and sides.

I guess the new Rainsong series was made with folks like you in mind. I hope this strategy is going to work out well for them.

Personally I prefer a guitar which does not pretend to be something it is not. Then again... I do own an Aristides electric with a marble finish.

Others have provided several examples. I love what Emerald has done with the veneers, but I don't think I'd ever spring for the upcharge. CF loud and proud for me - I see no reason to disguise them.

And, FWIW, while I'm an Emerald fan and owner, I think the Rainsong 'black ice' finish is absolutely stunning.

Plenty of 'ugly' wooden guitars out there too

Or, at least trying to get a rise out of us. So, does anyone think those Martin HPL black guitars are trying to look like carbon fiber? Since their HPL is essentially a "photograph" stuck to the top, back, and sides, I'm a bit surprised they haven't stuck a photo of CF weave on 'em.

I honestly have never seen a CF guitar that looks even remotely like 000.

Now, I can’t say I’ve done any research.

No leg-pullin’ going on here!

I owned one of those.... briefly. Reverb'd out about as fast as it came in. The verdict: Heavy. So so to play..... and using it to travel: VERY susceptible to climate change. It would rattle for hours when I got there.... Nope.
