Huss & Dalton RD-M
Up for sale is this beautiful example of the fine craftsmanship coming out of Stanton, VA. Just an awesome guitar.
This is a 2016 model. Huss & Dalton started making their "Road Series" in the depth of the recession in 2008-2009 and helped keep their shop going. Today, they continue to produce amazing guitars! However, these affordable ($3000), simply appointed versions of their traditional instruments have now been discontinued and info has been removed from their website. For the price of a Martin D-18, you can have a handcrafted piece of history from right here in Virginia! Just look at the silking on the top!!! Condition: Some minor pick scratches, some minor scratches on the back due to the satin finish. You can find a "dimple" or two on the top if you look closely but overall, in excellent condition. No cracks/nicks. Very minor fret wear on the first fret. EXCELLENT CONDITION. $OLD. I am prioritizing a local sale as I would like to keep it in the Blue Ridge if possible. #4621 was made in 2016.
https://www.tapatalk.com/groups/unof...uilt-t106.html I own the rosewood version of this guitar, and it has kicked a bunch of more expensive instruments out of my house. Good luck with your sale.

Updated information
Thank you for tracking down that information, Charlie!
I had assumed this was a 2008 because when I purchased it I had only heard of the Road Series being made in that year. But I have since tracked down models made in 2012, and now 2016! That would better explain how this guitar has remained in such clean condition. It was hard for me to believe that a guitar that sounds this good would have received such little attention over a decade! It is a great guitar and someone will be very happy with it! Thanks again. |

Price Drop and Video added
Hey all,
I have my eye on the next one so I'd like to move this quickly. Asking $2000 net to me, local pickup preferred but not essential. I have experience packing and shipping. I also added a few short video clips to the Google Photos album to show off this guitar and make a case for its candidacy as a great singer songwriter companion. Hoping someone will enjoy this gem for years to come! Thanks. |

Neck Shape Update
Been getting some questions about the neck shape. After chatting with another forum member who owns a RD-M, we agreed on "soft v". Very comfortable for me, personally.

So that's the profile -- how chunky/slim is it, overall?

Good point. It’s a comfortable medium. Not a small, thin neck, but not a baseball bat either. Again, I think it’s super comfortable. |
