I like the song even more that I know the backstory and the location!

It's so bright and crispy! Really cool to listen to.

Can you fill us in on the backstory? That would be fun to know!

Hi Fred. Lenny (SoCalSurf) was referring to my response to Kerbie in this thread about the title of this song. I used to live in the Santa Cruz Mountains, in the redwoods (beautiful place) and had a creek that bordered my backyard, called Shingle Mill Creek. Sometimes a wayward steelhead trout would get itself trapped in the creek, and have to wait for the next big rain to make its “escape”, over the rocks and branches, back to river.

islandguitar: Larry and I live close to each other in Southern California and have met through AGF. Incidentally, the place he refers to in his song is relatively close to an area of the redwood forest in Northern California that I have camped at annually for the last 40 years. I have always dreamed of retiring in that area. So that makes it, in addition to Larry's outstanding playing, an even nicer song for me to listen to.

Thanks for that SoCal! Wishing you that good retirement in that special place....I highly recommend it (retirement), by the way!

Thanks so much! Luckily I still have 20 years to save money to afford a place in that area!

Outstanding! Two observations: 1. Wish I wrote this. 2. Wish I played this.
