Default Advice for electric newbie

I'm sure he'll string it with whatever gauge the old strings are. And yes, if you keep using the same string gauge, then you won't have to do anything to the bridge. But sometimes it's fun to mess with the guitar and experiment. It's tricky but not rocket science.

Oh yeah it's a good idea to ask him that string gauge he used. I'm pretty sure it will be 9's.
