Default Line 6 Helix has upgraded to version 3.70.

The upgrade includes twenty-four new models. I have never before owned a guitar product that so often added value to itself.

Thanks for the update. Is this for all Line 6 models or just the Helix? I have the HX FX and would love some new settings.

Yes, it is for the whole Helix/HX universe. By the way, the update page is HERE. As usual, if you follow the instructions you'll do fine. The process prompts you through making a backup, running a factory reset, saving the factory presets, and restoring from your backup you made at the begining of the process. Where it can get interesting is when you first attempt to use the unit. I've had this happen before: you go to your presets and blocks are missing. It can cause a panic. However, there is a step missing in the update instructions - your device needs to "rebuild you presets." If you don't see it happen on the unit's screen and things are wonky, reboot - switch off and on. On the next reboot it will probably stop and rebuild the presets, and it will spend a while at it. Have a cup of coffee and glare at the Internet. If it doesn't rebuild, reboot again. It seems like the units need to sort of "clear their minds" before settling down to business. It is undocumented but it works. It has happened on most of the updates for me.

All the best,

Bob

Yes, they really leaned into the power of downloadable firmware!

I'm no electric guitar scientist, but on TGP everyone is really thrilled about the new Marshall amp in the update, and the Line6 original amps are getting a lot of love too.

My Helix was a great investment, it's gear I will be growing into for a long time.
