Default That Smell - remembering LS over 40 years later

i know of no other song with the irony of this one...That Smell was recorded only months before the 1977 plane crash of Lynyrd Skynrd killing several members...it was an honor working this one up.

No link. I love that song and know the backstory. The guitar work is great, I’ve always loved the duelling leads. I really enjoy what LLB does, so I’m looking forward to seeing the performance. Is this a new recording, because having checked out many LLB videos, I seem to recall this one, but maybe not.

fixed, sorry for the confusion. This is the same one you may have seen just had LS on my mind this week as we hit the anniversary date recently.

Very well done!

Nice job with your playing on the Les Paul!

That's quite a production!

Hello Glenn, hope you are very well sir! Appreciate the kind words, a labor of love working this up as it was one of my fave bands in the early days of learning guitar. Time flies, some things get better, some fade don't they.

Yep, it is. Really enjoyed it again. I’ve watched many LLB videos. You guys are a great band.

Absolutely nailed it.

Notes:
1. The girls are enjoying it! I think I noticed the little lyric change for them...
2. Love the pinchies in your solo. And you know what? With your pork pie, LP, and rough shave, you even look a little like Gary Rossington these days. Perhaps a more handsome Gary?
3. Love the Thunderbird.

The plane went down in the evening on October 20th, 1977. News traveled more slowly back then. I woke up at my little mountaintop college the next day and didn't learn of the accident until after breakfast, when I switched on the radio for a few minutes before classes. When I learned of the crash I cut classes and spent the day in front of the radio, praying for the band members and slowly learning of the list of casualties. I still have a picture in my mind's eye of where I sat all day, looking out from my roost over northern Alabama and Raccoon Mountain and hoping for the best. I was in a three-guitar southern band at the time.

Not sure which I appreciate more, LLB's work or lessons from the tonedr.

Thanks for both!
