Interesting interview Toby and great guitar. I've been in Lark St Music several times. Buzzy Levine is originally from my home town of Worcester MA. One of his brothers is Duke Levine. Lark St Music was originally in Albany New York before moving to Teaneck NJ.

Play that Huss & Dalton guitar in good health.

Awesome story, thanks for sharing!

I don't think I can choose what my "best" guitar is, but I'd have to say the H&D would be an odds-on favorite to win if I had to. Those craftspeople in Staunton, VA know how to make some mighty fine instruments.

That is a great story, Toby!

It speaks very well of Mary Chapin Carpenter! She really seems like a very generous person from what I have seen and read.

I hope you are doing well. It's good to see you back on the AGF.

Great story. I have few guitar regrets, but when I was searching for the "one," I was considering an MJC. It was a tremendous value, but just out of my price range. A week after I bought something else, the seller dropped the price substantially, to a point where I would have bought it. Now Toby has me jonesing for one all over again.

Thanks for sharing the story Toby. I have played some fine examples of Huss and Dalton guitars and have a friend who lives just on the other side of the ridge from the shop in Staunton. I am hoping to visit their shop post-Covid.

So great that you heard directly from MCC. I so enjoy her Songs from Home series and sure enjoy the videos that you have been posting of your playing.

On a side note, I currently have a wonderful guitar on consignment with a suggested price but I always want the guitar to find a good home and be played by someone who'll get maximum enjoyment out of it. So happy this one landed in your very musical hands and heart!

Best,
Jayne

That's a great story, Toby. Huss and Dalton guitars are easy to fall in love with. I've got two in my little family and they are both special to me.

Hi Jayne,

It's such a wonderful shop and the folks there are incredibly generous with their time and friendly as all get out.

Very cool Toby!
Thank you for sharing. MCC is such a class act!

I am confident my (in production) H&D 000 12 fret will bring me as much happiness as your MJC brings you.
