Default Ain’t No Sunshine - the “Mom’s on a business trip/vacation” version

I find it really easy to transition between an acoustic and an archtop. The string gauges are the same, and the wound G string with the flatwounds makes the feel really similar, especially if you use Elixers on the acoustic. As different as they sound, I play them both pretty much exactly the same way.

Nice "revision" version there. I keep at least one electric with a heavier wound G set for my "Think acoustic, play electric" needs, though I can't do that nice barre and partial barre stuff you're doing.

I see the Shure SM7b mic. I keep thinking more home recordists need to look into it or the ElectroVoice EV-20 for vocals. Less sensitive to home background noise, less room tone issues. And they sound great for anyone but the most quiet singers.

To me the choice between the SM7B or the EV RE20 is more a matter of looks than sound. They both are wonderful and fill that same niche of being wonderful vocal (or instrument) mics in less than ideal environments.

I use either a FetHead or a Cloudlifter, and with a bit of a boost they are fine for soft singers as well.
