Default Tom Doerr Brazilian frenzy - found my set!!!

New thread is up here! Thanks for being a part, I promise, no more 5-year builds

If you've read my other post you know that I spent a recent afternoon with Tom at his shop. It was a wonderful afternoon (and then evening). I'm going to post in three general batches as I have time.

1) Tom's Brazilian
2) The set we selected for my upcoming build
3) Other fun tidbits from the trip

I don't know how many posts this will take because I have a LOT of pics. It could be a while but this should be a fun thread. Straight, figured, flitch - you name it, Tom is ready to build it for you. Here we go. There are a few pics with Naptha to simulate finished color.

LOTS more to come...

You picked well! I like the one with curly "horse mane" grain the best.

Those are some nice sets of Brazilian, for sure! I remember when I visited and looked through his stacks as well. That was a treat. I think some of those sets are "spalted" Brazilian, which is quite rare and beautiful. He certainly seems to know how to bring out the best in a set of Brazilian Rosewood, given how great my Trinity sounds!

I think the holy grail Brazilian stash has just been found. Those all look great. I think the first two sets look real interesting for Brazilian. The sapwood sets look great, too.

Default I know - you're getting sick of this, right ;)

Okay, I apologize if I have "some" duplication - I figure it's all sweet.

In the morning (maybe tonight) I'll post the build selection....

Stay tuned.

HOLY WOW,

Those are some fine sets, I found the one I would take which is really hard to believe because there are so many I loved, but one just really jumped out at me.

Now, are you into the straight grained or the figured? I will say the one I picked is figured....

This is like a Victoria's Secret catalogue; not an ugly picture anywhere!
