aDAM is in the US attending the GAL exhibition which is only a couple of hours from me so I drove down to deliver the guitar this afternoon. Wish I could have stayed longer but I have a bunch of guitars to finish before Healdsburg and needed to get back to work.

I've been lucky to have some great clients lately and aDAM sure fits that description. He gave me clear information about the tone he wanted and was a fun and creative collaborator.

The sun finally came out today just in time for me to take some photos in natural light. (Man, it's been a cold, wet summer that comes after a cold, wet fall, winter and spring!) So here's the finished guitar.

That is a beautiful guitar Kent! The coco colors came together very well, it's another wonderful Chasson build, and the newest to head to the far east! Congrats to you and aDAM...have a great HGF.

Kent,
This is one gorgeous looking instrument; but that soundboard is what takes it over the top. I love the streaks of light grain - very, very beautiful.

That sure is a work of art. Love the consistency of the pattern throughout the guitar.

I am the proud owner of this beautiful creation now ... since Apr 2010 I have commissioned this guitar, there was never a moment I felt regretful about it. The process was insightful. Kent shared his knowledge and thoughts with me freely and I felt very involved in many ways even the guitar was a few thousand miles away.

Apart of its high aesthetic value, it plays very well and sounds wonderful too. Deep and thick bass it possess, very comfortable string spacing for my fingerstyle playing, wonderful set up, etc.

As I have built a guitar with Jeffrey Yong, there are certain things I have learned about hand-built guitars. While I love the deep and majestic tone of Jeff's built guitars, this Kent's built has its strength and characteristic too. I have always appreciate guitars with deep-thick bass and Kent is able to translate this preference into this guitar. It isn't the same as my Jeff built guitar but I love them all. Not forgetting the fine craftsmanship and his clean work. It could easily pass off as a CNC built guitar. The fittings, binding, joints, holes, fret wires, etc. are near perfection. It wasn't any exaggeration I have made up. I showed this guitar to other experienced guitar makers at the GAL 2011 convention, they were astonished at its appearance and workmanship. When they played the guitar, they didn't want to put it down. Some made trading offers ...

Overall, it was in every way a worthwhile experience and the purchase for me. Once again, I would like to thank Kent for his high level of craftsmanship and attention to details in this collaboration. This is my first hand-made and Kent didn't make me regret the investment.

I was at the GAL convention, and got to meet Adam and see this fine instrument.
All I can say is that the pics don't do it justice.
What a beauty. And that fingerboard is such a sweet touch.
Well done, Kent!

Steve
