Default Good clip-on tuner - does it exist?

Is there a good, reliable, accurate clip-on tuner that doesn't break down after several months like the Snarks?

The Peterson Stroboclip tuner gets good reviews. But it’s expensive. $70.

The Oasis OT-2 is very good. I have several and have used them for years.

As you might imagine, the what’s-the-best-clip-on-tuner question comes up regularly. And more often than not the same two answers dominate - Peterson StroboClip and TC Electronics Polytune/UniTune. Both are equally great. Can’t go wrong with either. Just a matter of personal taste/need.

I really like my Lekato tuner that I purchased off of Amazon. It is really accurate and it is rechargable. I have a Boss pedal as well, and it matches up exactly with it and my D'Addario PW-CT-12 that I keep attached to my acoustic.

I have one of each.

I love the sweetened tunings on the Peterson. It's so accurate as to be annoying at times.

I love the simplicity of the Polytune.

Default A thought

I've had a bunch of Snark, a variety. A couple of years ago I bought a Unitune and never looked back. I found Snarks cumbersome and fragile. And I much prefer the linear scale on the Unitune to the Snarks' 'gas gauge'.

As a happy Polytune owner (who mentioned the Stroboclip) I have good news and bad news.

The good: it is pretty darn accurate, responsive, and easy to use.
The bad: it's sold out everywhere. Like. Everywhere. And has been for months.

I've wanted a second one (not willing to pay the exorbitant markup from unauthorized sellers looking to fleece people due to the pandemic conditions) and have not been able to locate one for months.

So I'm likely going with a Peterson to see what the hubbub is all about. Then I can contrast and compare!

My go to is the Boss TU-10. I have a Polytune and can’t stand it ... the buttons, in particular, are impossible to find ... not stage friendly.

I have been using my D'Addario NS Micro tuners for more than two years with no problems. Small, inexpensive, and accurate.
