Default “Long way gone”...novel with lots of guitar

Just listened to this novel by Charles Martin that intertwines the story with tons of guitar discussion. Lots of technical details about brands, models, and music. Lots of fun for a guitar fanatic.

Plays great for me.

I saw them on that tour @ Old Town School in Chicago. They wore the derbies in honor of John Hartford. I also took one of Darrell Scott's Song Food sessions. Got to pick up that Sobel guitar of his. He's a big man. That's a big guitar. Very wide neck. Close to 2"at the nut. Not good for me. But he sure can play that thang.

Close, it’s a Darrell Scott song called Long Time Gone. Others have recorded it as well, great song.

I caught Darrell with Tony Furtado in Philly a few years back. He is indeed a large person, kind of the gentle giant type

I read it a few weeks ago and enjoyed it. The author seems to really know his guitars.

I give
Thread doomed from the start
Oh wait!
Believe it or not, in the book there are THREE STORIES as to what happened on that pivotal moment!
So you are right
Three sides to every story

So, based on this thread I ordered the book on Amazon.

My wife calls me in a panic and says "Someone stole your credit card or identity!"

I said "What?"

She said " I just saw an order on Amazon for a novel from you! It has to be a fraud!"

So, she is a voracious reader and the last fiction book I read was in a prior century.

I say "Cool yer jets. Yes, it's a novel - AND it is a Christian novel".
She apparently faints at this point.

I hang up and when I get home she is still wanting me to cancel the credit card.

I tell her to get over herself and it was the guitar action (pun intended) that got me to buy the book. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

But, I screwed up. She is now reading the book. In the novel the main character relates that the best guitar ever made was the Martin D-28. So, she now asks for the first time - "What kind of guitar do you have?".

I say "A Martin D-28."

She says "Really. How much did that cost?"

I look at her in a panic and run out of the room yelling "Gotta go cancel the credit card!!!"
