I never much thought about it. I have my first bound headstock and neck as of a few weekends ago. I like it quite a bit, but don't not like my guitars that don't.

...I like both bound and unbound necks and headstocks....the overall aesthetic of the guitar is more important to me....but I do like the feel of a bound neck a bit more...

I, too, love the look, but the only guitars I have with that look are electrics. Binding would not influence my choice to buy something, unless there were two guitars that I liked equally. In that case I'd pick the bound one.

I prefer the look of a bound neck that is why I bought a Martin HD-35 and not a D-28. A bound headstock looks great with it but I wanted a Martin.
