I think it's fine to own one blinged out guitar, I lied, I actually have two. This old thing.
Gibson 1934 L-Century Of Progress. Basically a museum piece but plays great and is crack free. It's been well taken care of over the last 80 odd years. I've only owned it for two of those years.

No bling for me. I like spartan appointments. The D18 is perfection. Even the abalone rosette on my J15 is too much for me. Having said all that, I like the Eastman E40 series, though I would never own one.

Nope
And it's even a Blueridge. One of the few models that's fairly subdued (bling, not tone of volume!), the BR-140A.

All of my guitars with the exception of my Braz. D-21 have abalone top trim. One has even more than that. And no,this was not intentional on my part. Guess this means I have an attraction to bling, and didn't even realize it.

My hog Larrivee has a little shell around the soundhole and beautiful tiger maple binding. Tastefully done, IMO. The real beauty is in the mahogany. And the sound, of course.

No George, I still own it now. But your guess, from the signage and bench is pretty spot on! The shoe company started in the latter part of the 19th century and was out of business by 1939. But they were the biggest supplier of shoes in the world for more than 30 years. How old do you think I am???? LOL

This is an example of the bling I like. Everything is wood and recon stone.
