I did leave my RainSong in the bed of my truck I believe last year. It was HOT out, with the sun directly on the case.
When I took it out, I couldn't hold onto it, it was so hot. It had a very strong odor of hot epoxy as well. When it cooled down a bit later, it sounded odd. I changed the strings and it went back to normal. I think the coating on the Elixir strings got damaged from the heat.
