Nux Radar IR pedal noise
Hello all,
I just recently bought a NUX Radar ir pedal, loaded it with some IRs from 3sigma, and i am blown away with the sound i now get on my Takamine EA10, but the is a problem, if i use it in front of my Multi fx (zoom) the is an awful noise issue, so I've tried various multi-fx and the same happens, but when i place it after the Mfx its perfect but then I'm losing my stereo out option as the nux is mono, has anybody got any ideas to why this noise issue occurs? Thanks in advance All the best Peter |

Hi,
simple as it gets: NuX is crap. Don´t use it and be happy. And I tried a lot of NuX stuff... cu erniecaster

I stand corrected, it is a mooer, and it sounds great.

You don't give enough information to maybe get an answer.
You need to specify the noise (hiss, hum, buzz...), depending on the nature of the noise you can have different explanation You need also to tell what pickup you use...

It sounds like a power amp that's turned all the way up so id call it a hiss, when i place it after the fx its still there but then not as bad and useable, the master volume does effect it on the "Mooer" it happens on all my guitars, The taks own Palathetic pickup. lr baggs anthem and a k&K, its driving me nuts, alone this is not there, could it be two preamps clashing or something like that? |

Read this: https://www.pedalsnake.com/blog/2016...-dealing-hiss/ What is possible is poor signal to noise ratio from the Mooer Radar. The Mooer Radar is a speaker simulator. It is thus designed to be placed as last on the signal chain and expect strong signal. If you feed it with some weak signal it might add too much noise. The Zoom FX is designed to cope with any situation, it can be placed first and handle weak signals and yet provide good signal to noise ratio… the output , if some clean gain is provided, will be stronger and feed correctly the Mooer. That could be an explanation… unless you have no gain or volume boost set in the Zoom FX My 2 cents, Cuki

Well, you are a real lifesaver, I'm really happy now, just did what you said, the Zooms volume was maxed out, so i reduced it bumped up the amp, it's sounding great now the hiss is minimal, good enough for me to use. Thank you very much for helping, finally even though the RADAR is a speaker emulator isn't it just an IR loader at heart of it or am i barking up the wrong tree? All you need to know is what signal "level" is expected at the input of a given pedal
