Default Spoon’s vid on Martin’s new slope dread - DSS-17

Finally a vid with no talk all play. Sounds pretty good, huh?

Every time I listen to one of these videos I get GAS for one of these. They sound great and seem like really nice guitars. Then I go pick up my J45, play it and ...nahhhh!

Which AGF sponsor usually gives the best deal on Martin guitars?

No way I’d trade in a J-45 for one of these either, Jamie. But it’s a sweet little beast all its own...and a fun partner for my D-41 (which still gets 90% of my playing time).

Any one of many will give you the best deal there is dollar for dollar.
Maury's , LA Guitars ... Wildwood Guitars in Ohio to name a few
LA Guitars isn't a sponsor anymore but they were. All are highly reputable and great people.

Lots of great sponsors on AGF. But I bought mine from Maury. The fourth Martin I’ve bought from him. These can still be hard to find in the wild. But Maury had one in my hands just over 10 days after they were originally announced at NAMM. Just can’t beat that kind of CS.

I really like them Roy, but my D18 covers my Martin craving.
As many of us who own one know, a J45 is it's own deal.

If these are $1559 what do you think a good street / sponsor / deal price is? Sounds amazing

Also, how do you like soft case it came with or did you get a HSC afterwards?

I'm not a fan of the soft case/gig bag and have been looking for a decent hard shell case. I works okay but it's not as good as a HSC. The guitar itself is great. And the only one I actually like the Martin Retro strings on.

The gig bag is a decent one. The guitar coming in one was no biggie to me. I already had an unused SKB case that fits the new slope perfectly.

Rok, the DSS-17 is nothing at all like either your J45 or D-18. And it's not ''just right in the middle between the two'' as people like to say about other guitars. This one is out there in it's own world.

You've probably already read my other posts about Lake Pipes roaring, Hell's Angels and Bat Out of Hell, so I'll leave out all the hyperbole and say that you really should do your ears a favor and go try one of these when they start getting back into the stores again this summer.

(only 5 to 7 more months to wait for my CS J-17)
