When I was a teenager, my cousin and I used to go out to Cape Lookout State park during the summer and walk around the park playing Jethro Tull acoustic songs, me on my very nice little Harmony OM-style (I forget the model, but it had a six-in-line headstock shaped similar to a Strat), and my cousin on his flute, playing those Ian Anderson chops.

We wandered around the campgrounds like Pied Pipers, gathering up groups of like-minded teens, bored with sitting around watching old dad drink beer around his camp-fire. We'd tell them to come down to the beach that night...we're having a bonfire. Great way to meet people...we always got at least a couple dozen kids to come down, with the odd six-pack or bottle of Ripple....skinny-dipping at midnight in the phosphorescent surf.

While not in the league of Doc or Janis , here is an arrangement of Summertime , that I put together so I could dovetail it into a medley with Moondance by Van Morrison
