Default zoom h4n question--monitors

i just got a zoom h4n, based on recommendations i received from some of you in an earlier thread. thanks, as it does seem like a great way for someone that knows next to nothing about recording to get started.

my question is--can i hook up active monitors directly to the h4n? there only seems to be one output jack, so i'm thinking this isn't possible.

what would i have to do to get the recording through active monitors?

thanks in advance!

Absolutely!

I'm back to ProTools but I use my Zoom to "catch ideas". All you need is a stereo minijack to whatever your monitors use, probably 1/4" phone or XLR.
That exact cable may not exist (I use mini to 1/4" to a Mackie Big Knob then XLR out to my monitors) but you can get mini to 1/4", then 1/4" to XLR adapters.

Radio Shack or GC should be able to set you up...............good luck!
