Plain Top Martin CEO-7?
Hi all,
Looking for a guitar for my father. Does anyone know if there are any plain top runs of the Martin CEO-7 out there? I feel like I might have seen some from My Favorite Guitars when they were still around a few years back, but I could not find any on some quick searches. Thanks! |

They do exist, but they're extraordinarily rare.

Ah, that seems to line up with what I'm finding. Since I've been out of acoustic guitars for a bit, hard to know if what I remember is accurate at times. Thanks for the link.

That guitar sounded fantastic! That video should be cross-posted in the thread with the quote from Bill Collings that cocobolo makes a terrible tonewood.
That was a custom shop order—I seem to recall seeing a clear-top CEO-7 that wasn’t custom, but I could be mistaken. Definitely rare beasts. |

I compared one with my OOO-18 (2014) yesterday : My OOO-18 won !
So, why not a plain OO-18 ?

That's a good idea. I have played CEO-7s, but slightly prefer my 00-18V.

It seems to me, when the CEOs first came out, that there were a few natural topped ones. They weren't in demand, so they only made a few, but they were the same price as the bursts.
